The efficiency of an electric motor is highly dependent upon the operating temperature. If you can manage to keep the motor "cool", then its full power will be available for the whole run. Water-cooling avoids damage caused by overheating even over long periods of running at full load. The adapter und heat-sink can be bonded to the case in the brush area with a thin layer of silicone adhesive.
